Web Systems Administrator

The Systems Administrator is a senior level position responsible for maintaining all production, staging, and development servers. You must be well organized and able to juggle many tasks at once. You are cool under pressure and always maintain the ability to see the big picture. You have worked with a high traffic, web facing application and have already learned how to handle the common pitfalls that arise in such an environment. Day to day responsibilities include monitoring, release management, new server provisioning, software installation, password management, log analyzation, patching, library updates, custom scripting, backups and more.

You must have 5+ years experience in all of the following:

• Administering Linux servers
• Working in a high traffic web environment
• Experience with three tier web architecture
• Scripting (shell, perl)
• Configuring appliance-based load balancers
• Installation and maintenance of virtualized servers (Xen)
• LAN administration
• HP Sitescope
• Designing and implementing security strategy
• Apache 1.3/2x, Tomcat 5x, Postfix
• Backup strategy and implementation
• Application deployment

The following experience is not required, but preferred:

• Windows Server
• Experience with Oracle RAC
• Java
